Swati grew up in India, on a staple diet of Bollywood movies. The fun and upbeat music from these films is a vibrant part of everyday life in India, and dancing to this music is an integral part of the Indian experience for any dance enthusiast! In 2009 Swati Chaturvedi combined her passion for Bollywood dancing and community outreach and created the Community Bollywood Dance Project.

As a teaching artist with Musicopia since 2014, Swati continues to broaden her community outreach to various schools and organizations across the Greater Philadelphia region.

In June 2015, Swati had the opportunity to share her story in the book 88+ Ways Music Can Change Your Life, and thus began her blogging journey. Storytelling is her way of honoring the moments of our lives.

Swati continues to challenge herself and is currently training in Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form. In 2016, Swati completed a focused personal training session at Terrence Lewis Professional Training Institute, learning various Bollywood dance styles. She loves dabbling in ballroom dancing and her bucket list includes dancing the Waltz in Vienna!

As a dancer, choreographer, teaching artist, and blogger, Swati aspires to create joy and to bring people together!

“Devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”
